back injury due to car accident

Question
I was in an accident in nov. 08 I was struck on the passenger side right at the gas tank of the car. The offending vehicle was traveling at a rate of speed at or around 45 mph. This caused my vehicle to lift up and spin around. The doctors found no immediate injuries at the time yet I am in constant severe pain ever since. The pain is mainly between my shoulder blades and despite my best effort I cannot seem to alieviate it no matter what I do. Please help me understand why I have such extreme pain and how can I help it. I have had weakness in my lower limbs and the pain will not subside.

Thank you,
Aleesha

Answer
Aleesha,
The reason that you are having trouble ever since your car accident is that you have sustained Cervical Trauma in the form of whiplash.  Whiplash can cause tearing of ligaments, muscles or tendons as well as vertebral fractures or subluxations (misalignments).  If this is not corrected properly then this can lead to decreased function in various areas of your body and eventually symptoms and disease may set in.
You need to get help right away before further destruction sets in.
I would highly recommend a Doctor such as myself that is trained properly in the Cervical Spine and to handle patients with such trauma and injuries without harmful drugs or surgery.
If you would like to get this corrected as you need to, then send me your geographical location so I can either help you personally or try to locate another doctor that may be able to.
