Question
I have had surgery at L5/S1 about 4 years ago and have S1 nerve damage as a result of tolerating the pain too long (I have an unusual high tolerance).  Now, I have C4/C5, C5/C6, herniated left postural and C6/C7, C7/T1 and t1/T2 all have large herniations with spinal stenosis. The herniation at T1/T2 effaces the ventral fluid canal. Bythe way, I have never been in any traumatic accident at all.  The theory is that my spine is petite and I am 5'11 with large muscle mass and frame.  The theory is that this large mass is pulling on my spine thus creating this issue.  My question to you ..is there anything other than a rod inserted in my back that can help my condition?  THanks for your help

Answer
Surgery should be that last resort to consider when it comes to your vertebrae.  It is also difficult to give you specific answers.  My suggestion is to see if a chiropractor can help you.  I am a chiropractor and treat many different types of disc herniations in my office.  But not all chiropractors are comfortable with treating some disc issues, dependent on the severity.  Call one in your area, do some research and ask to get a consultation to see if they can help you.  I am in St. Paul, Minnesota and would be happy to see you.  If you have any other questions or concerns, even after you talk to someone and want to know if what they say is true, email me.
