cervical and lumbar herniated discs

Question
I was injured around ten years ago, the situation was 5 herniated dics two cervical and 3 lumbar, with nev=rve damage in both upper and lower extremeities.  My doctor retired and recently I obtained a new doctor who is now putting me through the same testing. The thing that is bothering me is my mri tests came back different. the cervical are no longer herniated but one is bulging and the 3 herniated dics in my back changed to 2.  When I asked my doctor how this could be he simply walked out of room. Even my shoulder had two surgeries on it now he is saying I just have tendinosis. Could you please explain to me the different readings. I have since gotten my cds of my back, neck and shoulder and now I am getting my mri xrays from my previous doctor., any sugeestions. I am really upset by this.

Answer
Hi Lisa,

If I had a nickle for every time a questioner or patient told me that after they asked their doctor a question and he just walked out of the room , I would have a fortune. First off this guy is extremely rude and probably has no clue, that's why he left, you never ever do that to a patient, second, discs go back in place as easily as they go out of place. hat is why surgery is rarely necessary to repair one. What most competent physicians as Chiropractors do is manually decompress the disc with flexion/distraction for the lumbar region or cervical towel traction for the neck. The terms are just what they mean they are.

Here is a link that explains the F/D, the towel traction is just using a thin woven mesh towel like a bed pillow cover rolled up and placed under the base of the skull while a skilled DC pulls therefore decompressing the disc drawing into place. Call around and find a DC that has the F/D equipment and also does towel traction, expect relief in 2 weeks or less!
