Question
I just got my results of my MRI of The Cervical Spine and the following was noted, what does this mean? Please help.

C4-C5 and C5-C6 there is mild narrowing of the disc space.

C4-C5 there is a 1 mm central disc protusion with commensurate effacement of the CFS anterior to the cord.

C5-C6 2mm central disc protusion with commensurate effacement of the CFS anterioud to the cord.

C6-C7 There is a 1mm central disc protusion with commensurate effacement of the CFS anterior to the cord.

Answer
Leticia,

Disc protrusions indicate excessive pressure on the discs, generally due to overtight neck muscles, which pull vertebrae too closely together.

You need to improve your control of your neck muscles to the degree of being able to relax them.  The pressure will come off the discs and the protrusions will recede.

Please see the article on whiplash injuries at somatics.com/page4.htm for a fuller explanation and options for correction of the problem.
