Question
I have always ad problems with my feet. I have broken both ankles, broke tarals in my right foot, and tore a ligament in my right foot. Last weekend I went on vacation and I did a lot of walking. My left aankel bothered me, just like it always does after stenuour activity. But my right didn't hurt at all. The morning after returning home, I began to experience a pain in my right foot. I gave it time to go away, but it has been a week!

The pain is constant when I'm standing on it, or if I move my big toe in either direction. When I do move my big toe, I experience a pulling, flutting sensation from b/t my big and second toe all the way up my ankle. My other toes are stiff. The top of my foot is slightly swollen.

Thank you very much in advance,
Jenny

Answer
HI Jenny,

You need to see a podiatrist and consider a custom orthotic device to stabilize your foot and ankle.  In some cases a device known as an ankle foot orthosis would be more appropriate.  It sounds like you would get some relief from your foot and ankle pain and weakness.
