sever foot pain on top of my feet

Question
for 2 weeks now I have been suffering from sever pain on top of my right feet. I can hardly walk, I am alright when I put my heel down but when I try to lift off my feet to take the next step that's when the pain hits hard and when I do try to defy the pain to carry on walking it seems to get worse. The worse part is when I rest up and then try to walk afterwards, then the pain becomes so unberable. What can I do to stop this dreadful pain.

Answer
Hi Marcia,

If the pain is that severe I would see a podiatrist.  You may have strained the heel, plantar fasciitis.  This can cause pain that makes the top of the foot hurt becuase you are compensating for the bottom pain.  You could have strained the tendons as well.  You can't go wrong with ice and rest and wearing supportive shoes.
