Question
Hi I am a 28 year old woman and for the past 4 or 5 years I have have a pain that comes and goes and is always in different parts of my body. It is a very tender pain that feels as if my skin hurts. When it starts it may be on the top of my foot, on one side of my face or even a single finger on one hand. I never know where it will be next. I have tried to explain this to a doctor before and they looked at me as if I was crazy. I have had all types of blood work done and they always say that everything is normal. I try to notice when the pain comes what I am doing at the time, what I ate that day or anything to try to find out what triggers it. The pain is not achy but very tender with some throbbing every now and then. So tender to the point that I can't stand for anything to touch the area where it is present at the time. Right now I have the pain on the right side of my scalp, face and right ear. I have noticed though that it is usually cold outside when it starts. I have done so much research to find out what this could be but have not come up with anything.

Answer
Hello, Shalonda.

Yes, it's unusual.

From my way of operating, I would be looking for patterns of muscular contraction to account for the wandering pains, with nerve impingements being the cause of the pains.

Other than that, I wouldn't know what else to look for.

If you want to follow that line of investigation, contact a practitioner at

and have a conversation about your condition.
