Question
Thank you for following up with me so quickly.  As for a chiropractor, I worked for one for a year and some times he would manipulate me three times a day, I don't feel like that would help me right now.  I do, however, eat a lot of fast food so I am going to take that into consideration and eat more vegetables and watch my water intake more.  I just feel like the doctor I am seeing is not giving me adequate care and I am really worried about my health considering all the medications.  I will follow up with you and I do appreciate all of your input.

-----Question-----
I have moderate to severe spinal stenosis secondary to a central disc herniation at c5/6 and central and left paracentral disc herniation at c6/7 with moderate spinal stenosis, which is the findings on my MRI.  I have also had a nerve test done and my left side was 48 and right side was 54, I do not know what that means because the DR. did not explain it to me.  I am not happy with his care and I am currently waiting to see a physician at Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Institute.  He is telling me my nerves are damaged to the point that physical therapy would not help but surgery is not an option at this time.  I hurt in my neck and shoulder mostly but the tingling and numbing go all over the left side, some days are worse that others I am on at least eight medications for pain to migraines even nausea what do you suggest?

Nichole:

I am sorry that you are in this condition.

Basically, the cushions between the bones in your neck have collapsed to the extent they are pushing on your spinal cord. This could cause pain from the neck down.

The 48 and 54 mean that the nerves are more pinched on the left than the right.

I cannot believe that surgery is not an option.

There is an old saying, "when all else fails, try chiropractic". Go to www.sorsi.com, www.soto-usa.com and www.icak.com and look for a good chiropractor near you. Be sure and take a copy of your MRI report with you. You need a copy for your files anyhow.

Regardless of the doctor you see, meds you take or adjustments you have, nothing is going to work unless you get your water intake up and improve your digestion. The Great American Diet has got to go. Eat your vegetables, and drink your water. Take digestive enzymes or hydrochloric acid. The fish oil, essential fatty acids, is also vital.
NO processed foods or fast foods, which rules our tv dinners and Dairy Queen. Also, since you are female, your estrogen may be too high. Are you on hormone replacemnt therapy? That will weaken the cushions between the neck bones.

Write and let me know how it goes.

Ok!

There are chiropractors and there are chiropractors! The ones on the websites I listed are not run of the mill chiropractors.

Also, I am not sure I mentioned a Posture Pump. That is a devise for home use which has been shown to pump up the bad discs. It is avialable at Scrip Chiro Supply.
