Question
I was dropped two hours giving birth to my last child while the nurse tried to move me from my birthing bed to a new bed.  She could not get my epidural out of my back, could not get the anastisioligist and just left it in my back loosely with a band-aid while she was "supposed to" aide me into a wheel chair and down I went crashing into a computer cart, ramming my epidural into my back then landing on my hand and foot.  I then had my hand and foot x-rayed and just had a bad sprained foot and was on crutches for two monthes with a 3 yr old and a newborn at home and in extreme pain in my back with constant headaches.

I have been on oxicontin 10mg 3 times/day, darvocet 100mg 3 times/day, topomax 100mg 2 times/day, wellbutrin XL and sinus meds for the fact we live in what they call "sinus valley".  He just gave me Norflex so I'll give that a try. As you know, there is a kind of depression and recently things have gotten a little more difficult financially. I have a weekly migraine that last about two days and until now I have lucky that I had a job that allowed me to work around that but because of the horrible economic housing industry here, I have to get a 8-5 job and I don't have a clue how cuz I am incapacitative during that time.  My Dr. wanted to send me to a Headache clinic but my insurance won't allow it.  I've also found that I might have a correlation between unable to have bowel movements during headaches for some reason.  Is there a truth to that?  My headaches are specifically on my right temple down my neck through the right side of my spine where my epidural was.  BTW, I have had years of physical therapy before giving up.  It seemed it just inflamed it and made it hurt even more.  I just don't want to take serious drugs my whole life and I've been on them for 8 years.

Answer
The is a specific type of chiropractic that will help.  I am a member of a group of chiropractors that specialize in cranial work, getting the cranial bone to move and help transport the cerebral spinal fluid throughout the spine.  It is difficult to describe here, I suggest find a doctor near you, make an appointment and talk to them in person.  A lot of what you are explaining can be helped with this technique.
As for the constipation, it is most likely caused by the pain killers you are on, but there is some truth to the correlation with the headaches.
If you are interested, go to www.sorsi.com to locate a doctor near you.  I am located in St. Paul, Minnesota and would be more than happy to see you in my office.  If you have any other questions or concerns, please email me, or go to my website at www.healinghandschiro.com.
