Back and hip pain and numbness of the legs.

Question
Dear sir,

In brief two years ago I crush fractured my L1 vertebrae, four years ago I had an operation to lengthen the fascia muscle in my hip due to Trochanteric Bursitus and have a one ankle much larger than the other due to ligament damage in the past, which went untreated, since I was fourteen.  (I am now 25!)

I had physiotherapy treatment for all the above and after six months felt much more confident in carrying out sporting activities etc.

Unfortunately six weeks ago I fell again landing on my hip.  Since then I have had sharp pains and muscle spasms in my mid and lower back, and often wake up with numb legs below the knee, which eases off during the day.  I also have very sharp pains in my hips, which feel to be inside of the hip joint.  In general I am always feeling tired, but my health is good.

After several visits to the doctors and hospital the best diagnosis I have had is that I am stressed and anxious which is causing all the pains in my body, and I have nothing to worry about as the pain will go in a couple of weeks.

I would appreciate any comments as to what actions I should take, and which type of specialist may be the best to see and discuss the matter.

Yours faithfully

David

Answer
David,
There is a cause for your condition and since these doctors are not going to locate it then I suggest you get new doctors.  Waiting for a problem to go away is a lame excuse for a doctor to give especially when we have seen that all or nearly all patients have a problem that is causing their ill health that can be corrected.
I would suggest taht you go to an Upper Cervical Specific Doctor for your heath concerns, as this is the only doctor that I know of who can locate and determine the cause of your ill health as well as help to correct it.
I can find someone for you if you could send me your info.
Yours in Best Health,
