lower back pain!

Question
Hello, first I would like to thank you for offering your time to help others. I am a 18 year old male I am kind of small guy, I have worked in concrete flooring since last summer till last may, when I stopped after I hurt my lower back lifting a machine, (After I lifted the machine I felt a little pinch in my right lower back, I went to the doctor and he said that I have pulled a mussel and that it should heal in about 2 weeks, After two weeks I didn't feel any better so I got sent to physio-therapy, which helped rework my restricted mussels, however, now it has been 7 months after and I feel the pain more than I ever felt it before, it bothers me when I sit, stand, sleep or do any thing. The doctor told me it was only a mussel thing and that it would be a short term thing, it has been about 4 months and I still feel the pain, Am I ever going to recover, and is there any steps I can take to relief my pain. THANK YOU IN ADVANCED!

Answer
If the injury is truly a muscle injury, you will recover in time but you must stretch and strengthen the muscles involved.  Try doing some long, slow stretching exercises like yoga to relax the tension in the muscles.

If the injury is to your spine, you may need additional help.  I suggest seeing an osteopath or a chiropractor to determine if any of the bones in your lower back were pulled out of alignment during your injury.  Muscles in the area will tighten up to guard against further damage and that can add to the whole pain issue.

Thank you for your question, Tarek.  I hope that my answer was helpful.
