Iam having alot of groin pain.i have sciatica but this is new painsince three weeks.It just grabs me and buckles my leg,very,very sharp,the pain goes down to below my knee.my doctor has put me on zytram xl 200mg od.it does not seem to be working,actually the pain seems to be getting worse,that is grabbing me more often andnot going away at all.

Hi Bernie,

I suspect you where a belt to tight or a work belt causing compression on the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. This condition is known as meralgia parathetica and can easily be treated. I suggest you Google it to learn about its care and cause. Typical symptoms cause burning down the front of the thigh.
Another possibility is an inguinal hernia, this should be checked out as well.
