Question
i was involved in a car crash fourteen months ago. had back pain since then. a week ago it got worse, now its a herniated disc. question. can i prove that the car crash caused this?

Answer
Hi Angi,

It is possible to prove that the car accident caused a herniated disc. The car accident may have caused the herniated disc by creating injuries that put excess load on your spine OR the accident may have directly caused the herniated disc but it took a while for the neurological signs and symptoms to appear.

Have you been receiving treatment over the past fourteen months? If you have your health care provider should be able to provide documentation of your progressing symptoms.

A thorough physical examination by a Chiropractor, Orthopaedic surgeon or Neurologist should be sufficient to diagnose a disc herniation and related it to your car accident.

I hope this helps!
