Question
I had a rear end rta in december. I have been attending hospital since. I had a fractured collarbone and fractures of the it'd and t9. I complained of neck pain from the day of the accident but because I have no insurance it took three months to get a cervical mri. It was seven lines of text(not surprising since the mri only took about 8 minutes to perform!)I have had major loss of power on my left hand side, with pins and needles and difficulties picking things up with my left hand and a limp in my left leg. I cannot sleep for more than a half hour at a time at night because I "lock up" from the neck down and it takes me about ten minutes to move again. The pain is terrible, even though I've had physio. The doctor just told me to take plenty of painkillers and it should go away. I had an xray on my neck in a different hospital and they said I have two bones out if alignment(it didn't say that in the mri). Any help would be great. many thanks.

Answer
Hi Deborah,

Unfortunately, your case is typical. The medical system is not set up for these conditions. They will end up creating another drug dependent individual with fixing anything. The fact that you don't have insurance can work in your advantage. If you did, they would have run up thousands of dollars of unnecessary testing with the same results, poor treatment and no results.

Your symptoms speak volumes, it is clear you have some mal-alignment causing nerve root impingement. You don't need an MRI for the obvious.

What you need to do is taper off the opiates and see a qualified physician that deals with "curing" problems instead of masking symptoms.

You can get an appointment with a Chiropractor and get this fixed for half what the MRI alone cost.

Bring your x-ray and MRI report with copies of the films to a D.C. that comes recommended in your community.

He will be able to correct your problem better than any other discipline.

Don't wait, the longer this goes on, the more difficult it will be to correct. It is more than likely a pinched nerve in several locations, the only way you can "unpinch" a nerve is with your hands by biomechanically realigning the vertebrae. This procedure is painless and the results are immediate. Give it a try ASAP and get back to me after your consult and treatment. If you have any further questions, I'll be happy to help!

Take Care,
