Answer
Kathryn,
I am sorry to say it but when you alter what God has given you there are always consequences which are directly in relation to the amount of alteration that was done.  They could have affected a thoracic/lumbar nerve(s) during surgery or affected the alignment of the spinal bones.  It is hard to say at this point, however you should have an evaluation by a specialist to determine what is now causing your condition.  If you would like a referral send me your town and state and I will try to locate a doctor that may be able to help you.
