Question
I am 75 yrs old and, according to my MRI, have my sciatic nerve pinched
between 2 lower vertibrae.  Nerve blocks helped but did not cure. Pains pills
helped but I still cannot walk for any distance with terrible pain that starts in my
left hip and travels down to my ankle. I was thinking of trying the Mckenzie
method of massage.  Please help, I am too old for spinal surgery.

Answer
Hi Harvey,

I would strongly recommend that you find a health care professional who has experience with the Mckenize method. It is very effective in treating sciatica related to disc problems and may be able to help you prevent surgery.

I hope this helps!

Dr. Liza
