Question
I have been diaganosed with RA for the the last few years. I have just been diagnosed with drug induced lupus. I was on hydrazaline for years for my blood pressure. My question is will the lupus go away since I have stopped the hydrazaline or what is the best way to treat the lupus.Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Marty,

Almost always Drug Induced Lupus disappears after discontinuing the drug that caused it. The term Drug Induced Lupus is misleading. Certain drugs like hydralazine can cause symptoms similar to lupus but do not cause the autoimmune disease.

I wish you well,
