Heat or cold?

Question
I am 67 years old and have had osteoarthritis of the knees etc. for about 15 years.  I take ibuprofen and have lately been putting ice onmy knees in the mornings.  This seems to help some with the pain, but makes the joints feel stiff.  I am wondering if heat packs would be better than ice, or maybe a combination of the two?  Do you have any experience with this?

Answer
Hi Mary
please use heat only on pain, not cold that will make it worse in your case and mine too.
sorry i am so late but i have 16 puppies i am tending to so been highly busy.
not to forget my people in need i suggest also a portable tub spa from Sears for about $1o0 dollars to help me alot at bedtime just as good as the big grand dollars of one.
stretching is also good during the day and keep moist heat on the pain not cold..............please'

kind regards
patt
