Question
Can a person that has gout, have a fever? My friend was just diagnosed with it,he had a fever also with big left toe pain and right ankle pain.

Answer
Sue,

I am sorry to hear that your friend was diagnosed with gout. It is very common to experience a fever during a gout attack. These attacks do not usually last long. If your friend takes their diet seriously and follows the doctors orders the frequency of the attacks can be reduced significantly. Also adding cherries to their diet can help also. Cherries have enzymes that remove purines from the blood so that crystals are not deposited in joints and muscles.

I with your friend well
God bless,

Rusty
