Travelling Arthritis

Question
Hello Ms. Yaussy.  I've been under treatment for mild arthritis for a couple years.  I have a curiosity question.  Sometimes it will particularly afflict one area, for instance my knee, and then that will get better or mostly better.  At that time, another area will bug me for a while.  Than THAT gets better and another starts!  Is there a sort of travelling arthritis?  Or could it be that I just notice what bothers me most at the moment?  Thanks!

Answer
It could very well be that you're just noticing the area that's bothering you.  I have that experience with osteoarthritis in the knee, hips, and shoulder - it depends which one is aching that day how much I worry about it.  However, I also experience pain that appears to travel from fibromyalgia.  You may want to ask your doctor about it.  It's not life-threatening and there is treatment.  For some people, a simple thing such as moderate exercise can help, and since that also helps osteoarthritis, all the better.
