Question
I went to a Dr. last week for a bitter taste in my mouth and asked him to do a complete blood test making sure my blood values are normal. Based on Dr. diagnosis everything was Normal. I asked the Dr. office to send me the results and just got my lab results sent to me from my Dr. office while my Dr. saying everything is normal I just figured out that my RA is positive, Streptozyme, serum is positive, ANA (Hep-2) is normal, Sedimentation rate is normal and C-reactive protein is positive, but no specific numbers for anything no ranges! I'm 36 old woman with no sign or symptom of Arthiritis not at all, and the same kind of tests was done for me last year and everything was normal last year. Could you tell what this could indicate? do I need to take further actions on this? thanks for your help

Answer
Sety,

It is impossible to say with out the numbers. RT factor and C-reactive protein can be positive but still be in the normal range.

Streptozyme is an antibody that is caused by Streptococcal infections. It means that you have recently had something like strep throat. Having had a Streptococcal infection can cause your RA Factor and your C-reactive protein to be high.
