Question
I was hurt on the job and now have torn ligaments and tendons in my wrist. How do I determine surgery or permanent restrictions when I'm still in pain?

Answer
Steph,
Your ortho dr should make the call as to IF you need surgery. You are not the medical professional, he/she is. Permn restrictions should only be considered after you have reached MMI Maximum medical improvement and everything has been done that cold be done and you are at the best you will get...and if you still can't be full duty then you might need "permn" restrictions and an impairment rating.
