Question
bunion
bunion
Hi
I started developing bunions when i was 15 i am now 25 and i have researched lots of things that i can do to cope with bunions like where wear wider shoes, stretching etc
But now they are really painful even after walking a short distances and also there really poking into my toes.
Ive researched that bunion surgery is much better than it was before.
do you think i should have it done ?

Answer
Dear Tyrone,

This Orthopedic Chicago Podiatrist located in West Loop 60661,Roscoe Village 60618, Elmhurst 60126 & Bartlett 60103 says...
In the case of a bunion, the benefits should outweigh the risks of the bunionectomy---which appears to be the case here.
As the toe drifts-it may continue to drift & press on the toes-possibly causing them to buckle.
Seek a consult from a Board Certified Podiatrist. Don't be afraid to seek a second opinion if you don't feel warm & fuzzy about the consult. Bunion surgery currently is quite successful, when done by a skilled podiatrist. You are welcome to be seen by an AnkleNFootCenter Podiatrist.
Hope this helps & Good Luck!
