Question
Dr Katz
Have you had any experience with cryosurgery in the case of intractable heel pain due to a heel spur?

Answer
Deborah,

I am a Cryostar certified Cryosurgeon.  I've had excellent results using Cryosurgery for heel pain.  I've seen many patients that have had all of the other treatments with little success and have gotten good results from Cryosurgery.
Cryosurgery is another treatment alternative and should not be viewed as a "Magic Bullet".
The complication rate is low and I do recommend the procedure.  You are normally able to return to regular activities quickly.
Some people do have the treatment and may only get minimal relief, however, it is still a good option.
