Question
My right foot hurts on the outside, above my small toes. Very painful on the side and on top. Burning pain at times on the top. Its very stiff if I don't move it very much, especially in the morning. I am on my feet all day and it constantly hurts. Has been hurting for months and is worsening over time. I thought arthritis at first but I am only 33. I was very athletic in school and am a very active person but am also overweight. Does this sound like arthritis or tendon?

Answer
This Chicago Podiatrist says.......

Unfortunately the weight contributes to these kind of problems.
Burning is an indication of irritation of the nerves-perhaps from tight shoes, or heels that are high-which would also cause some of the pain in that area. If there is no arthritis in the family and you have not injured the area and also do not have similar pain elsewhere, then it is probably irritation of the joint. See metatarsalgia and bunionette at our website AnkleNFoot.com for additional info.
Go see a good Board Certified Podiatrist if taking anti-inflammatories, resting it and icing for 2-3 days does not make it improve.

Hope this helps!
