Nerve damage in feet

Question
I have had nerve damage in my feet for 10 years or more. I am usually ok and can tolorate the pain, but I am experiencing something different now.  When I walk with my shoes on my right foot feels like I am walking on knotted up socks and it is very painful.  Barefooted I can hardly put any weight on my right foot. Do you know what is causing this and do I need to see my doctor?  Thank you, Mary

Answer
This Chicago and Elmhurst podiatrist says....

Sorry to say Mary-but it sounds like the nerve damage is worsening.
As we get older we also loose the padding on the bottom of our feet.
If you are overweight this will add to the pain.
Sometimes physical therapy by a Podiatrist or Licensed Physical therapist may work.
Please have it looked at!

Hope this helps!
Good Luck My Friend!
