Question
I just notice inthe last 2 weeks that when i turn my left foot inward i get this sharp pain that occurs in the first quarter of my left side of my left foot?  Also there is a little burning sensation when i leave my foot alone, nothing that really hurts but i can feel it.  Can you help?

Answer
This Chicago, South Loop & Elmhurst Podiatrist of AnklenfootCenter.com says.......

Dear John,

Sorry for the delay in writing the answer!
It may be as simple as a foot sprain or mild irritation of the nerve to that area in the foot. This could have been brought on by increase in activity, change in shoes or other physical factors.
Symptoms are too vague to come up with a more specific diagnosis.
Try PRICE to start
Protect-Wear a foot or  ankle brace around the painful area and limit the movements that aggravate it.
Rest-Speaks for itself-perhaps the weekend when you are off-rest it.
Ice- Will help if it is still painful and a little with any swelling.
Compress-Ace wrap or ankle sleeve. Again if it feels like it is swelling
Elevate-Will help if it throbs or swells at the end of the day.
Anti-inflammatories such as Motrin or Advil for a few days may also help quiet down the pain in your foot
Go to our website store at AnkleNFoot.com for examples of wraps, sleeves or supports for your foot or ankle.
If the pain persists more more than 3-4 weeks, you should consider seeing your local podiatrist
The podiatrists of AnkleNFootCenter.com are specialists in these kind of cases.
We are located in Chicago & Elmhurst.
Hope This Helps
Good Luck!
