Question
My wife is a 65 year old woman, had back surgery for this condition in 2004, she was doing great for 2 years. The past 4 months she has been suffering with about the same symtoms (pain in lower back, buttocks, groin area, down the leg, calf and foot)she can't walk, stand to shower, etc. the only relief she seems to get is to sit, when in bed she has to lay on her left side, she keeps an ice pack on it 24/7. She's had MRI,EMG,Xrays done and they can't find the problem. Could it be an artery blockage of some kind? NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO HELP US! We need options to get her fixed.

Answer
Hi Steve and thanks for writing,

I'mnot sure this is Sciatica as it typically is worse when sitting - regardless it's very painful and a challenge to treat.

I'm sorry I can't guess what the issue is, you really need to pester the doctors to keep testing until they figure it out - go to as many specialists as you need to (Neurologists, Sports Medicine Chiropractor, and even try Naturopaths & Chinese Medicine Doctors).

Sorry I can't be more help, wishing you all the best.

Margot
