the initials stand for it's nickname, "hole in one". it is the precision upper cervical corrective method developed by dr. b.j. palmer,d.c., son of chiropractic's discoverer. it supposedly acquired this name from dr. palmer's contemporaries who had previously thought nerve interference was produced by vertebral misalignment at various levels of the spinal column. be aware many  believe this still. dr. palmer proved it only originates in the upper cervical or neck area, so they likened his correction of this one area producing results in such a wide variety of complaints all over the body to hitting a hole in one in golf. obviously the name stuck. a relatively small percentage of chiropractors use this method.
