My Hip Quite Literally Locked

Question
Okay. I am 15 and I had a band concert last night. I was sitting in a chair before the concert and my hip completely locked up. There was severe pain and I was unable to move it. It took 4-5 minutes before I was able to move it again and by that time I was ready to scream. I now cant lay on my left side and my hip feels off. I have mild Scholiosis. But I don't think that could be a factor. Any suggestions?

Answer
Dear Cheyenne,

Have you talked to your parents about what happened? That is the first step.  They can help you to make decisions regarding your health and well being.

Second, the "hip" region is an area that covers a lot of things. It could include your lower back, the SI joints, the acetabular joints, the trochanteric bursa, the hamstrings, the lower back and gluteal muscle, the ischial tuberocity, etc....

What you need to do is find a good chiropractor where you can get a good examination and consultation.  Otherwise, any ideas that I would have are pure speculation.

I hope that this gives you an idea of where to go to get some help!  I am so sorry that you are having such pain. It is never fun.

Thank you for the question.
