Question
Hi,have used this support base before and heeded the advise and have improved dramaticaly,2007 visted a chiro and regreted it since,was  going there for 4 months 2 times a week and got nothing back but pain where I had none in my life until then,went there at the advise of a naturopath,(I fainted at work)I eventualy used your advise and went to a physio therapist who treated me with utmost repect and told the truth about my back condition (no sublaxtion fake stuff,he GAVE me a pinched nerve! ) I was told,,so now somthing has returned and the pain in the center of my back c4,5.I think, is now quite exscrutiating ,it obiously has to do with a new job(driving a lite pickup 2 to 3 hours a day).
even sitting down at home for 20 min is incredibly painful.I get the odd tingling in my left and right finger tips,small chest pains also but not all the time,now I am happy to go to the physio again but I cannot understand why there is this problem again ,I used to drive alot before I went to that rotten chiro!.so can you please help me understand why the back does not seem to heal? like a bruise or a bone brake because those things do heal over time ,I am 45 and have regular exercise and no other health/fitness problems not over weight also,I eat organic and use no alcohol/drugs etc..thankyou for your time ,,regards John

Answer
John,
I first would like to point out in every profession there are good ones and there are bad ones.  It seems that you may have gone to a bad one, and so I ask that you please do not judge the entire profession on this one bad doctor.  It sounds to me like your problem may be structural and so in theory, going to a chiropractor to have your spine aligned correctly would not be such a bad idea.
Now, here is where we shift into high gear;
When the top bone in your neck (atlas) which holds up your head, gets into a misaligned position, it causes many different health problems for you.  One of them is that your head literally does not sit on your neck straight, another is that the remainder of your spine compensates from this locked out vertebra and becomes misaligned and unstable.  This is how many times a general chiropractor may manipulate your spine up and down all day long 3 times per week and not correct the problem.
You see, unless the true cause is corrected, you will never get well.  What it appears that you are needing is the services of an Upper Cervical Specific Doctor to locate, measure, and correct the misaligned vertebra or subluxation , then allow it to maintain that normal position long enough for your body to re-compensate to the newly found positioning of your upper spine and your head on your neck.
Does that make sense?
Any further questions?
Yours in Best Health,
