Question
i have a herinated disk on c5c6 i have tried epideral shot and cortizon shot i also have a fusion on c3c4 from birth now i getting ready to have surgery and fusion on c5c6 will i have any problems with this or is this common  please give me advice or info

Sorry for the tardy reply...

You have a congenital fusion of c3 and 4.   This put a lot of strain on the vertebral segments both above and below, and it's chewed through the disc below to where you will have these segments fused, as well, because they are moving too much.

Fusion is neither common or uncommon, but it always results in increased loads.  If you are asking side effects from the surgery, well, there can be a lot.  I will tell you that after the healing from the surgery has occurred, go see a DC to help keep motion in the segments surrounding the fusions... it may keep you from getting further surgeries down the road.
