Question
I Was hit by a car in a cycling accident, fell on my head and fractured C1 (burst) and c2 the odontoide (II), I have been in a vest for 3 months and there is no change. What is the latest surgery for this situation. my neuro surgeon says he has to tie C1 C2 and C3 together. What kind of mobility will I have after this operation and is there another way?

Thanks

Marc

Answer
Marc,
First of all if you truly fractured your C1 and C2, I want to tell you that I am glad you are still alive.  This is an injury that most people do not survive.  Do you have the use of your limbs?
Can you send me any X-Rays or MRI's that were taken from this?
I can give you a much better opinion if I have some pictures to look at.
