Question
Hello: After a fall, I have a rare problem with a muscle in my right side of my back. When I fell, I jammed something across my back from L4/L5 right over to my fatty(love handle). Basically I split my erector spinea. My physio says that the bottom of this muscle is no longer communicating with the upper part, which is causing the lower muscle to go into spasm, and is gripping down on everything. This is causing severe problems, and I have been told that if it is not stopped, will cause me to loose control of my legs. It is causing cauda equina already, and progressing quickly. Ten's machine placed on opposite sides of the split seems to sync up the muscles, and after a bit of time, the muscle seems to be ok(all symptoms stop). The second I take off the Ten's, the muscle is in trouble again. Question: How do I get anyone to fix this? No one knows what to do with me.

Answer
Dear Barrie,

This Orthopedic Chicago Podiatrist located in West Loop 60661,Roscoe Village 60618, Ukranian Village 60622, Elmhurst 60126 & Bartlett 60103 says...
For your pain in leg to foot.
You need to see an orthopedist to get a correct diagnosis-which may lead to better treatment.
The therapist is not a physician. Sounds like you are being treated for the symptoms instead of the problem. The fact that you say no-one means that you have not seen the right physician.
Sometimes these injuries can take up to 4 months or longer to heal. Maybe try a sports medicine physician or therapist who is a physician.

Hope this helps & Good Luck!
