Question

left foot
i have a recurring problem on the outside of my left foot.  i don't know if it's some sort of fungal infection or if it's more serious, but i'm getting tired of it.  i'd say about every other month i get these raised, reddish bumps on the front-end, outside area of my foot extending up to my small toe.  i currently have one on my toe, and with previous experience in mind, i can expect it to flare up halfway down the length of my foot.  they never hurt, they just ITCH like CRAZY to the point that i actually lose sleep over it.  the bumps stay for an average of about 3 weeks, then i get like 5 weeks of a break, and they come back.  this has been happening for about a year and a half now.  i tried popping one of them earlier in life (probably not the best idea, but i was curious) and it just released some clear fluid, then the hole clotted - the bump kept itching and didn't change in color or size.  do you have any ideas on how to get rid of this stuff?  or how to relieve the itch?  i've tried calamine lotions, oatmeals, rubbing alcohol to dry it out (didn't work), regular lotions, aloe.............. no relief.  please help!

Answer
It can be a fungal infection of the skin.  Try using over the counter Lamisil twice a day for two weeks. If that doesn't do it, then you need to consult with a podiatrist or dermatologist.
