Question
My husband had the cryo on the top of the foot, no nerve stimulator used. Should we ask to have it done under the foot in a specific location?  This is in answer to my previous question. What a service you are doing for those who suffer! Thank you

Answer
Hi Teresa,

Sorry for the delay in answering.

I'm assuming that your husband had cryosurgery for a neuroma.

I have had good success from the top of the foot because I use the nerve stimulator.  When there is no success it could be that the nerve was missed or needs additional freezing for destruction.  Another approach would be from just behind the toes or directly on the bottom of the foot.  I use all of these approaches in different situations.  However, each surgeon develops their own technique and may have success using one technique.  So it really depends on the doctor.

We also have to assume that the diagnosis and location of the pain was correct.

So I would recommend re-evaluation of the diagnosis.  I would then consider repeat of the procedure.  Consider finding a doctor that uses a stimulator.

Hope that helps.

Sincerely,
