Question
Hello
Both of my legs feel as if they are in a meat grinder. The pain starts up a few hours after waking up and proceeds to get worse. At the end of the day the pain consumes most of my thoughts. I am 38 and was hospitalized multiple times when I was young for the leg pain ( the 70's and 80's). The doctors dignose was growing pains. I currently do not have insurance and would like to come in for a visit, but worry that I will get the same answer I have always gotten ..growing pains.

thank you
lisa

Answer
Hi Lisa,

There are many possible causes of your pain and growing pains would not be a likely suggestion of any doctor at this point.  You will likely need to see a specialist to determine if there is a circulation or nerve problem.  This could be associated with a pinched nerve in the back or a spine problem.  So most tests that would be ordered would be costly.
