Question
I suffer from Morton's Neuroma in both feet due to mechanical problems with my feet.  I had conventional surgery on my left foot between the 3rd & 4th metatarsal, in Dec. 08 and I am still having discomfort. I was told it is probably due to scar tissue I should get a cortisone shot in the scared area to break up the scare tissue. Does Cryosurgery work to relieve this problem as I will need cryosurgery for the other Neuroma's as well?

Answer
Hi Doreen,

Cryosurgery or neuroablation would certainly be an excellent option for both of your foot neuroma problems.  The neuroma that you had removed may have formed a stump neuroma or abnormal regrowth.  This is one of the cons of nerve removal.  If you still have the same pain, I doubt that scar tissue would be the cause if the nerve was removed.

You can have cryosurgery on a stump neuroma or on a neuroma that has not have surgery.  I would use this as an option prior to nerve removal.  See my cryosurgery site below for more detail.

I would avoid excessive injections.
