Hi Im Josh
for about a week now I have had pain in my abs it is mild and tends to be in the belly button area Im going to see my doctor on Thursday but I was wondering if there are any tests you can recomend I ask my doctor for? the pain is in the belly button area I also burp alot and it sometimes burns a little I havent felt feverish Im going to the bathroom regular is htere anything you can suggest I do know if the pain gets any worse I will go to emerg but its not that bad yet

Hey Josh

With the pain being mild, I'm not going to hazard too much of a guess here. The two things that come to mind are either a muscle strain or a gastrointestinal issue of some kind.

In terms of tests to ask for, your doctor may want to start with a medication, especially if it is a GI problem, rather than do any invasive testing. If the medicine works, the doctor will assume the diagnosis was correct.

Definitely go to ER if it's getting really bad. Otherwise, I'd wait and see what your Doctor says on Thursday. If what the doctor tells you doesn't make sense, send me a follow-up question and let me know what happened, and we'll go from there.

Have you tried an OTC antacid by any chance? It sounds a little low to be heartburn type problem. There are a few other possibilities, including hernia I suppose.

Sorry I don't have more specific ideas, abdominal pain is a little different animal.
