Question
Hello, I am 21 years old and currently live in New York and I am currently unemployed. I lived my life since 16 years old being treated for depression and anxiety. lately I have been treated by a psychologist and a psychiatrist because of a severe breakout of anxiety and panic attacks. My psychiatrist recommends putting me on disability for a while to monitor and try new medication for my anxiety and panic attacks. Time is limited because my HEALTH COVERAGE expires by the end of the month. I wont have anymore coverage. My question is, If I am unemployed and become disabled, How do I go abouts getting medical coverage? If you cant answer this, If you can recommend someone that can, i would greatly appreciate it.  thank you

Answer
Being unemployed and disabled, you should qualify for some benefits. I'm not familiar with NY, but you should be able to go down to the local welfare office and apply for SSI, Medicaid, food stamps, and more. They should help you out.

Also.. get on the list for Section 8 housing. This could help you with rent. And there may even be a fuel assistance program.

Listen to your doctor and keep well!
