Question
Iam trying to make a game to help mentally retarded children in dyagnosis and treatment.

I need to know:
What are the thinking patterns of mentally retarded children?

What are the behavirol symptoms to be observed?

What behaviour is to be imparted to them to help them become normal

Answer
Thanks for the questions. See my answer below:

"What are the thinking patterns of mentally retarded children?"

Not being a neurologist, I'd need to know a bit more about this question in order to attempt an answer. As to what defines mental retardation (MR) that would be abnormal intellectual performance, generally determined by an intelligence quotient (IQ) test. Mental retardation is divided into mild (IQ: 50 to 70) or severe (IQ: < 50). Severe mental retardation is subdivided into moderate, severe, and profound.

"What are the behavirol symptoms to be observed?"

MR can be present, yet manifest itself in an infinite amount of behavioral characteristics (this goes to reinforce the idea that people with MR are "people first" and speaks to the diversity present in all people.

"What behaviour is to be imparted to them to help them become normal?"

The goal for a person with MR is generally not to become "normal", but to lead a normal life. There is also a term called "normalization" that speaks to how some people with disabilities are treated differently and how that can effect their lives. I would suggest further research on this topic in order to better understand the concept.

Hope this is helpful.
