pain in arm

Question
In July I went to get my travel shots for India. I got a Typhoid and hep A in my right arm. Ever since my
shots I have had pain in my arm and now it is to the point where I can not lift my arm with out severe pain.
It feels like some one punched me in the upper arm. I have trouble sleeping because it seems worse at
night. I have gone to my doctor who said he never heard of this before. I know it is from the shots, because
this pain started the day they gave them to me. Could this have affected my muscles and would chiropractic
treatment help? Your answer is much appreciated.I don't know where to turn next. Sincerely daniela

Answer
Daniela,

I have seen this before.  It is likely from irritation to the nearest bursa of the shoulder or from the effect of localized irritation at the injection site.  Get some therapeutic ultrasound over the area, then soft tissue massage (with my preference being Graston Technique), and then some joint mobilization/manipulation to the regional joints by the chirpopractor.   This should help.  On your own, use heat and have someone massage the area.

'Hope this helps.
