lower back pain/with lower abdomen pain

Question
I have had lower back pain for years. It usually becomes worse when I am in a flexed position for a long time/like constant bending, sitting and in flexed position for a long time. I had X-rays and was told I have lumbar scoliosis, anterior tilted pelvis. I have been complaining of groin pain, It feels deep inside and the pain I feel is really sharp that starts from my testicles and goes up approx. 6 inches and this is when my back is extremely sore from an activity with overflexing/repetitive flexing. The pain subsides in my groin when my back is not in extreme pain. But, there is always a dull throb in my groin, and I can't tell if it shoots down to my testicles or up from my testicles. Had a CT scan-neg, urine work-neg,ultrasound on testicles-fine. Because my lumbar is curved to the left and there is some shortness in one leg due to this...could this internal pain be from nerves from the lumbar and sacral joint leading down into the lower abdomen? Would chiropractic work help? I went to a chiropractor and it didn't seem like he was getting much accomplished. I have taken two large doses of cipro in case of bacterial infection, didn't do anything to help

Answer
Hi Dave,

It sounds as if you have a problem that has developed over time.  Therefore, it is going to take some time to recover.

Long term pressure of the nerves going to the testes from the lower back can decidedly cause this type of pain.

It is great that you've had all the tests.  Since the tests have ruled out most medical pathology, chiropractic care is almost surely the treatment of choice.  You will need to retrain the mechanical dysfunction with adjustments, stretching, posture work and changing daily activity practices.

There is a learning curve, so to speak, with the tissues retraining.  But this is already chronic so don't wait until it is worse and/or permanent.

Hope this helps.
