Question
QUESTION: a few years ago i did some weird neck/head/arm stretch. i felt weird warm flushes throughout my body after it happened. when i went to lay down, it felt like i was going to pass out. i went to the hospital cause i thought i was having a heart attack. the next day i almost passed out. on the third day i had a hard time sitting up, i always felt like i had to lay down.it also felt like i had a lean to the left, and also like my head was on one side of the room while my body on the other.  when i did lay down at one point, it felt like some fluid came out of my ear, not alot.  i was out of work for 6 to 8 months. there was a point i couldn't open my mouth for a few days. there was one morning i awoke and it felt like i couldn't move my arms and legs and fell back onto the bed and then the room started spinning. i was diagnosed with vertigo. my blood pressure had also dropped. i had a tilt table done to conferm. i also had ct scans and mris which showed nothing. i also had a spinal tap done. my head hurt so bad at the time.  then over time the symptoms seemed to have gone dormant. now recently i am having some symptoms. i had my 2 upper wisdom teeth removed to see if that would help, also had a ct done of my neck. nothing seen on ct. it is hard to describe the symptoms i am having now. it feels like something is pushing/or pulling on the right side of my face. i also retch in the morning then have some vomiting this has happened every day. i always thought it was from laying on my right side on a muscle that is getting pulled on. i have had injections done and some have helped. also back rubs. hopefully someone has an answer.

ANSWER: Tina,

You more than likely have a Subluxation of your C1 vertebra that may be causing all of or most of the symptoms you are describing. i highly suggest you get to a chiropractor and have you neck checked for Subluxation.

Please be aware most medical Physicians are not trained to look for these Subluxations and therefore probably did not recognize or identify the problem.

Once any subluxations in your neck are fixed your symptoms will diminish or quite possibly go away altogether.

I hope this helps with your health journey!

QUESTION: I had an mri done of my head and nothing is stated about c1. only thing said is..c2-c3, there is no disk herniation. canal and foramina are patent. c3-c4, shallow central disk herniation is in contact with the ventral cord. canal and foramina are patent. c4-c5, central disk hernation is in contact with ventral cord. canal and formina are patent. c5-c6, broad-based disk bulge indents the ventral thecal sac. canal and formina patent. c6-c7 and c7-t1 levels are unnremarkable. also straightening of cervical lordosis compatiable with muscle spasm.

i have gone to a back dr, and he said nothing about the c1 vertebra. is this dangerous?

ANSWER: Tina,

I would call back and ask if the doctor could look at the MRI specifically at C1. That is going to be the only way you know about the condition of C1. Sometimes Doctors will not discuss c1 or for that matter any level that is considered normal or within normal limits. So without directly asking the doctor you will not know if there is a problem with that area or any other area.

I can't tell you if this is dangerous for this very reason it may be completely normal and therefore he did not comment. But that is pure conjecture on my part. Please ask for a re read with an emphasis on C1.

You have a lot of health issues with your neck area and the discs within your cervical spine. This is more than likely more involved than the C1 vertebra.

I hope this helps. If not please send in another question.

QUESTION: how is this problem fixed? i just want to be out of the pain.

Answer
Tina,

Things are just not that simple. I suggest you find a chiropractor who has Spinal Decompression. This is a specific technique to decrease the disc herniation(s) in your neck. If that fails then the next step would be MUA Manipulation under Anesthesia.

I don't know what else to tell you except to get to a chiropractor or medical doctor of your choice. If the MD you are working with is not helpful or seems not to care then your only choice is to get a second medical opinion.

I have already stated what type of Chiropractic you should start with. Please do so.

I wish you luck but there is no simple cure that I can describe to you.

Please resubmit if you have further questions.
