Question
i got a pain that started from my back and radiates to right buttock, hip, leg and toes. i had this pain the day after a body massage and the doctor prescribed me ibuprofen and the pain went away but it came back after 3 months and more painful, went to get a MRI and it reads this:

IMPRESSION: there is 1.3cm x 1.0x1.1cm posterior right-paracentral disc extrusion at L5-S1 level, compressiong the intraspinal right S1 nerve root, and contacting the S2 root.

Comments: lumbar spine MRI was performed with axial and sagittal T1 and T2 and coronal STIR sequences. Correlation is made 10-10-12 radiographs.

Sagittal and coronal sequences show anatomic alignment of the lumbar spine. Mild degenerative endplate change are noted about the L5-S1 disc.  No other focal marrow signal abnormality or cortical defect is demonstrated.  There is L4-S1 disc desiccation, with mild decrease of disc spaces.  Large posterior disc extrusion is noted at L5-S1 level.  The conus medullaris terminates at T12-L1 level.

T12-L3 levels are normal.

L3-4 level shows mild bilateral articular facet hypertrophy and 2mm posterior disc bulge, without significant neutral foraminal narrowing or thecal impression.

L4-5 level shows broad 2-3mm posterior disc protrusion and mild bilateral articular facet hytrophy, without significant neutral foraminal narrowing or thecal impression.

L5-S1 level shows posterior right-paracentral disc extrusion. 1.3cm transverse, 1.0cm AP, 1.1cm cranio-caudad, compressing the intraspinal right S1 nerver root and contacting the S2 nerve root.  There is a mild bilateral articular facet hypertrophy, with mild right-sided neural foraminal narrowing.

No paravertebral soft tissues abnormality is demonstrated.  No spondylolysis is seen.  The visualized portions of the S1 joints are unremarkable.

Answer
your best option is chiropractic care to take pressure off those spinal nerves. Sounds like the massage therapist made a mistake. I would consult a chiropractor right away and bring your mri results.
You can also try physical therapy but that focuses on soft tissue only. Another treatment to try is cold laser. many chiropractors use the laser as an adjunct to the adjustment. good luck!!
