Neck injury from a falling object

Question
About a year and a half ago a big object fell on my head. I have had a session of neck injections as well as nerve blockers. I still have pain, headaches, and numbness in my shoulders neck and arms. My doctor recommends surgery. Why do I still have all this pain. And what do you recommend.

Answer
Rick,

You didn't really send me any information on xray or MRI results? What is your diagnosis? Did you get a second opinion about surgery? Please give me a little more to go on.Have you tried PT or Chiropractic. Are you on constant anti inflammatories and pain meds?

Here is the short answer. Considering that you have tried just about everything medicine has to offer why not get a chiropractic work up and see if you are a candidate for chiropractic care? I hate to admit it but there are times when you just have to undergo surgery and if you are considering surgery wouldn't you want to know that you did everything under the sun to try to avoid neck surgery?

I would really like to help you with your decision process so please forward as much info as you can!!

Sincerely,
Dr John Q Quackenbush
