Question
Dear Doctor,
My friend in his early 70s fractured his C1 and C2 vertebrae in a bike accident. He is in collar now. His doctor said that because of his age the C2 fracture will not heal well and recommends surgery to place C2 in a right position using a screw. Should he wait and see if it heals or agree to a surgery? What are the complication of the surgery?
He can walk now.

Thank you,
V

Thanks for writing!

Is your friend in any pain? If not, I would delay the surgery as long as possible. Take a lot of bone and ligament foods and supplements and see if it will heal. The protomorphegens from Standard Process are very effective in healing bone. Those are available only from doctors.

Go to www.sorsi.com, www.soto-usa.com or www.icak.com and look for a doctor near you. Or you could find one on the Standar Process Website.
