Treatment for L4-5 and L5-S1

Question
I had an MRI done recently.  Impression showed:
1) L4-5 2.5 mm broad based posterior protusion mildly indents the sac.  There is mild right foraminal narrowing.  There is slight lateral accentuation of the protusion.
and
2) L5-S1 3 mm broad based posterior protrusion abuts the sac and S! nerve root sleeves.  There is moderate bilateral facet arthrosis and mild bilateral foraminal narrowing.

I would like to know what treatment will I need and how long will this condition last.

Thank you so much for your answers.

Answer
Carolyn:

What treatment you will need: That depends on what you choose to do. If you choose to work on the root causes of this problem, get good chiropractic adjustments and do some exercises, that should be all of the treatment needed

How long will this condition last: I assume you are in pain. If so, the condition will be more persisitent. Very likely, you would continue to have pain off and on for a long time.

98% of the time, the patient with a condition like this is dehydrated. Triple your water intake right away and stay with that water intake. Drink filtered or spring water, not distilled or tap water.

Usually, there is an underlying indigestion situation. You may not be aware of having indigestion or it might be so chronic that you regard the  symptoms as normal. There is very likely something there. It needs to be correced by dietary changes and supplements. The drugs will only make the situation worse in the long run.

There is a great book out there by Dr. Batmanheldidg (spelling?) titled "dealing with back pain and rheumatoid joint pain" or some such title. Look for it and get a copy. He is the doc who wrote the book "Your Bodyies Many Cries For Water".

A good chiropractor can also help you. Go to www.sorsi.com, www.icak.com, www.soto-usa.com and look for a good chiropractor near you. They can guide you through the process and aid your recovery with specific adjustments to normalize the brain and spinal cord.

Does this answer your question?
