Question
I have this severe pain in my lower back and my left leg. The worst pain is in the left leg.  It has been going on for over two years.  The pain gets extremely bad when I walk on it for awhile.  I had an Mri, ultrasound and a nerve test done a year ago but the doctors said they did not know what it was.  It seems to be getting worse.  It prevents me from doing a lot of things.

Answer
Diana,

Sounds like muscular contractions, in this case a conditioned response, probably to a past injury.

To resolve the problem is simple, in principle:  improve your muscular control to the degree of being able to relax those muscles.

Please see the articles on back pain and pain management at somatics.com/page4.htm, which provide more detailed explanations and options for help.
