Question
I've had a disc removed from thelower back, but also have a herniated dics in my neck. I have began to experience sever pain and numbness in both arms and hands.I can't even type this without stopping and letting my hands hang down to get the feeling back. I also have siffness in my neck and shoulders as well as chest pain. The numbness is really bad at night and when I get up in the mornings I'm not rested and my hands are drawn. Please help what do I need to do.

Answer
It difficult to give you exact answers without seeing you in person.  It sounds like you need some disc work in your neck, but also some joint work (shoulders, elbows, wrists) to help relieve the hand/arm "numbness."  With it going down both sides tells me it is a disc related problem.

Has your doctor suggested any treatments for your neck disc problems?  It depends on the severity of the disc involvement in your neck, but in most cases chiropractic can work.  Gentle manipulation and specific disc treatment can help set the disc back to normal and also help reset the vertebral positions.  It's much easier to explain in person.

If you don't currently see a chiropractor and would like to talk to one in person, I suggest going to www.sorsi.com to find a doctor near you.  This group of chiropractors, which I am a member of, use gentle techniques to help realign the spine and all other joints of the body.

This is all dependent on your decisions and the extent of the disc involvement.  You can not make that decision alone, that is why I suggest going to sit with a doctor and talk about your options, and if you don't like what they say go talk to another and another until you are informed of a decision that you are happy with.

I am located in Minnesota near the Twin Cities, if you close and would like to talk about the xrays/MRIs or if you have any other questions or concerns, please email me.
